OHS representatives (Lori Gandy, Janet Sullivan, Tuula Talvila, Maria Nicoll, Kathleen Fischer, Cecilia Lee, and high school student Sonia) spent an exciting day under the big green canopy with the friends and family of Silver Spring Studio and their community partners. We were visited by many families and gardeners of all ages.

The OHS featured a “guess this seed” game, along with a children’s activity that teaches where food comes from and which parts of a plant are edible. Several visitors were also interested in Canadensis and native plants in general.

We received many gardening questions (and even managed to answer some of them). It was a pleasure to spend time with Tyler Watt, MPP for Nepean, and share a few laughs while playing the seed guessing game together. The "MeriSquares" were on site with a lively square dancing demonstration and encouraged onlookers to give it a try.

Cecilia learns a left hand star in the centre photo below, also known as a promenade.

We look forward to participating with Silver Springs in 2027!
