Integrated into our March Speaker Series on March 24, 2026*, the OHS will also be hosting its annual "Seed Swap!" It will take place during the following time - 6:45-7:30 pm, at St. Mark's church.
Bring your extra seeds — for vegetables, herbs, perennials, annuals ... and, any plants! With our panel presentation on food insecurity at this meeting, please consider an emphasis on seeds for food plants/vegetables.
Please bring seeds already packaged and labelled, in small packets, containers, envelopes, or baggies. Come and browse the selection to find something new and fun to grow in your garden this year. You don’t have to bring something to take something home.
* March 24th, presentation will start at 7:30 pm and conclude at 8:30 pm (Question period and wrap-up from 8:30 -9:15 pm).
The March Series will be a panel discussion dedicated to exploring the subject of - Food for Life: How Some Organizations in Ottawa Are Addressing the Food Insecurity Gap. Featuring a panel of six community leaders and experts discussing how horticulture and community action are transforming food insecurity in our region. Presenters are: Peter Tilley, Nelson Coyle, Carla De Ciccio, Cecilia Lee, Rachel Wilson and Tom Robson. Full details available here.
