Ottawa’s Urban Forest

Sharing his knowledge about specific trees, Owen will provide information about tree ownership and care, and the value of trees to homeowners, the community and the city.

Owen Clarkin is Conservation Chair at Ottawa Field Naturalists’ Club. Owen is a Tree Champion and supporter of Tree Ottawa. He frequently contributes his photos to iNaturalist, where his philosophy is to upload what he noted on a particular hike, with a goal to be comprehensive regarding trees/shrub species he encountered on a trip. With a PhD in Physical Chemistry, he works in the healthcare industry during the week and spends his weekends with the trees.
