Health Canada Consultation on Neonicotinoids

We are all aware of the grim statistics concerning the deaths of pollinators, in particular native and non-native bees.  While there are several factors affecting bee mortality including loss of habitat and mite infestations, neonicotinoids which are widely used in agriculture, have been proven to be highly toxic to bees.

In early 2018 Health Canada opened public consultations on proposed regulations restricting the uses of 2 of the most common neonicotinoids.  Given the importance of this issue, the OHS made the following submission to Health Canada as part of this process.
