Two short presentations will highlight taking gardening projects from start to finish – one big and one small.
Four years ago, Resort Lac-Ste-Marie was created on this old ancestral four acre lakefront farmland. The nature of the Resort is to provide accommodations to mostly vacationers and wedding parties which includes to provide them with beautiful surroundings. At the time of purchase there were only a couple of gardens around the house. There has now been 38 gardens identified and most of them have been initiated and many of them are now fully operational including a beautiful pond. In his presentation, Alain Decelles will take you through the process he followed to identify the Garden Bed, design the most appropriate landscaping for that location, select the plants and finally to plant and adjust as required.
On a smaller scale, Bill Brown and John McGiven will share their story of creating a garden in front of their residence, the Windsor Arms apartment building in downtown Ottawa. Bill and John created the garden and have been tending it for 23 years. They were the recipients of the 2017 Trillium Award which is given each year to recognize efforts by citizens to beautify Ottawa.
The evening will also include the Summer Show.
