Garden Design and Plant Selection

Mary Ann Van Berlo will guide us through the elements and principles of design. She’ll also discuss how plants fit into the design principles and share some advice on plant selection. There will be many tips and pointers that we can use in our own gardens.
Mary Ann is an avid gardener who volunteers with Master Gardeners of Ottawa-Carleton. Her 2.4 acre garden on the St. Lawrence is part of the 1000 Islands and Rideau Canal Garden Trail. Since the trail opened in June 2015, Mary Ann has welcomed many visitors and bus tours to her garden. In June, 2017, Mary Ann’s garden was featured in Ontario Gardener Magazine.
